Nina Zaragoza Ph.D.

Nina Zaragoza, Ph.D., founder of Creative Curriculum Connections is an expert in teaching the art of writing to children and specializes in communicating this gift to teachers. She is the creator of the highly successful T.A.G.™ program, an innovative program which teaches children of all ages and abilities to be published authors. Dedicated to nurturing the creative writing spirit in as many children as she can, Dr. Zaragoza teachers her T.A.G.™ program to children classroom teachers, university students and parent groups worldwide.

Dr. Zaragoza was a Professor of Education at Florida International University, Michigan State University, Brooklyn College and other universities across the country. She has also taught English, facilitated university workshops, and worked with young children in Europe, South America, Asia and the Middle East.

Dr. Zaragoza has authored over 20 books and articles in the areas of reading, elementary education, and learning disabilities.  She is the author of the critically acclaimed Rethinking Language Arts: Passion and Practice (2002) and Look I Made a Book: Writing in A Kindergarten Classroom (2005).  She has also written a children’s book, Black Dog Brown Dog.

In conjunction with the anthology, We Read Our Own Stories: Children Write for Children, Dr. Zaragoza has designed a writing kit The Young Author’s Toolbox to continue inspiring young authors around the world to write and publish their own unique stories.
